When I was a kid, we used to play hide and seek. When we hid the others would yell "ready or not here we come!" Well, ready or not SP2 for Windows XP is coming. It is an automatic update that you will get from Microsoft.

It is FREE and it has some very important additions to the operating system like added security, a built in firewall, and popup blocking just to name a few. After it downloads, and the download is over 80mb, it takes a while to install. Then you have to reboot the computer and that reboot takes quite a while as well.

I installed it on my notebook and everything runs great. It is just as fast as before; I really have not noticed any difference. Check out the details at:

We all know how to insert clip art in Word, but what about editing the clip art we insert? You don't have to settle for what you get. You can make a number of changes using the built in tools. Check out the following white paper on the Microsoft site for details:

Creating a hyperlink in one of the Office 2003 is a simple task. You select the words you want to have the link attached to, then choos Insert > Hyperlink. Or you can click the hyperlink button on the toolbar, the blue globe with the link in the middle of it. Or you can right-click and choose hyperlink. There are many ways to get to the same place with Windows applications.

Here is another: Select the text want hyperlinked and press Ctrl+K. The Hyperlink dialog box opens and you can create the hyperlink. While you are on that screen, click Screentip to type a message that the user will see when they mouse over the link.

The Web Development Class just ended and the final project web sites were very well done. You have to check them out. Each was done for a working local business and I am sure each business owner is quite happy with the results!

Here is a great Excel shortcut. The most used function, at least for me, is the AutoSum. With it Excel creates a formula using =SUM() to add up a series of cells vertically or horizontally. Simply click on the cell beneath or to the right of the series you wish to add up, then click the AutoSum button on the toolbar -- instant formula!

But there is an even easier way! Click on the cell to contain the =SUM() and using the keyboard, press Alt+= and the =SUM() is generated as if you had clicked the button on the toolbar. Try it.

Here is a free HTML editor. I have not tried it out, but the description sounds good. Let me know how it works out

One of my emails just got blocked by a student that is using a free spam filter. You might want to check this one out at http://www.0spam.com

0Spam.com is a free, virtually 100% effective anti-spam service designed for POP E-mail accounts and now works with Yahoo and Hotmail accounts.
Just found a neat counter for a web site. Free and it includes stats. Check it out at http://www.statcounter.com and let me know what you think.
Decided to create a blogg. As I receive emails, read magazine, and from other sources glean some neat stuff, I want to post it somewhere to remember it. A blogg seems like an ideal place to do just that. Perhaps others can get some good stuff out of my poking around.
